It’s grants and awards season! SCBWI offers several opportunities for members to have promising work recognized with financial assistance and industry attention. Three that take submissions during March each year are the Karen Cushman Late Bloomer Award for unpublished writers over the age of 50, the A. Orr Fantasy Grant for middle grade and young adult writers of all types of speculative fiction, and the  Work-In-Progress grant for, well, works in progress (although you do have to have a full draft to apply).
