Pricing and Policies

Except for seminar only tickets, registration for the Southern Breeze Critique Fest closes when we fill available critique spots OR at noon (Eastern Standard Time) on February 13, whichever comes first. To register click here.

Registration is online only. Payment of fees must be made online using a credit or debit card via our new online payment system, Infintech . There are no refunds for critiques or seminars. Tickets are not transferable.

If all critique spots fill, you may ask to be included on a waiting list that ends February 13. Contact Melissa Miles at and put WAITING LIST in all caps in the memo line of your email. Please note that because of scheduling logistics, no changes can be made after February 13. Thank you for understanding.

Please note, when you enter the registration page, you must select the ticket for the seminar series first, then you’ll be given the option of adding on an author critique or the dual critiques.

Seminars: Includes 4, 1-hour seminars

  • Keynote by Carmen Agra Deedy
  • Key Revision Tools and Approaches by Harold Underdown
  • Pitch Party Panel with Minju Chang, Emily Forney, Ameerah Holliday, and Kaitlyn Leann Sanchez
  • Nonfiction 101: From ideas to proposals to sales, all the questions you were afraid to ask, by Melissa Stewart

These seminars will be recorded and made available for one month afterward. Please note, the term “seminars” does not include the Critique Language Clinics or their recordings.

Pricing for Seminars-only ticket:

SCBWI members: early bird $35, after January 16, $40

Non-members: early bird $40, after January 16, $45

Option 1: One Critique by an SCBWI author: $40

Option 2: Two critiques, one by an SCBWI author and one by an acquiring agent or editor, $80

Please Note: Signing up for either the single or dual critique add-on entitles you to attend one Critique Language Clinic, plus gives you access to the recordings of the other Clinics. Space is limited to the first 100 registrants, so don’t wait to secure your spot in one of these clinics.

The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) is dedicated to providing a safe and harassment-free environment for all conference attendees and has a zero-tolerance policy regarding harassment, intimidation, and discrimination. To that end, we will ask you to read and acknowledge this policy as part of the registration process. For more details on this policy, including procedures in place to report harassment, please click here

By registering for this webinar series, you acknowledge that audio taping, videotaping, and/or transmitting or aiding in any of the foregoing of any part of the conference is prohibited. Additionally, the material in all handouts and presentations is copyrighted and may not be reprinted, blogged, written, orally transmitted, and/or reproduced without written permission of the copyright holder only. Personal impressions, a quote that is cited, and/or general overviews are acceptable. However, it would be a breach of copyright law to give detailed reports of a presenter’s material. Thank you in advance for taking this policy into account. Your professionalism is greatly appreciated.

Whether it is after receiving a written critique, or live online during our seminars, please treat our faculty as co-workers/professional peers deserving of respect. Even if you do not agree with specific feedback or, universe forbid, you have a negative experience, you are expected to be civil. Raised voices, rude or unkind words, or behavior otherwise deemed inappropriate or abusive will not be tolerated. If you are asked to leave a live webinar, refunds will not be issued. Remember, too, when dealing with Southern Breeze committee members and officers that this conference is run entirely by people who volunteer their time!
